How to be okay during uncertainty…
By remembering it’s all okay.
I’ve been sitting at my computer for several hours now and these are the first words I’ve typed. Not that I was just sitting here doing nothing, I really did try to work, it’s just that my phone would not let me. I was inside at my desk and it kept going no service randomly, which led to not being able to get anything done. When I could no longer take restarting my phone, I decided to come outside and work. Regardless of the fact I’m still not getting much done, it’s much more pleasant and inspiring on the porch, listening to the bird’s sing. I keep telling myself it’s all okay.
I’ve been going over and over in my mind what I should write about next. I even pulled up my most recent draft post which I initially felt was unfinished only to find it was perfect and done if only I had posted it a month ago. Now, the time has passed and the world has dramatically shifted leaving the message lost and late to the game. I keep looking at my notes of all the ideas for blog posts and I’ve been coming up with little content. Maybe, it’s just the day and the energy in the world right now. I am confident that the feeling of indirection will pass.
What is going on…
So, what do we all need to hear right now? I’ve thought about it over the past few months and the theme that keeps coming back is, ” It’s all okay.”
Now I know there is much discomfort in the world due to the past few months and especially the last few weeks. The veil has been lifted from the eyes of many and they are finally able to see what has been happening in the world all along, just how unequal equality has truly been. People are fighting injustice in all the ways they know to do. Each of those ways is valid and there is not another living soul who could tell you the “right” way for you to be at this moment.
How to be okay with everything…
Instead of telling others what to do and how to do it, I choose to focus on ways of being and moving through the world which I find helpful. This list is something I refer to when struggling with uncertainty. It might just come in handy for you.
The list…
- Listen– We all need to be seen and heard. Just because someone shares themselves does not mean they are asking for a solution. We share so others will see us, not to have someone fix us. It is a gift. Do your best to listen deeply to yourself and others.
- Get comfortable with the uncomfortable– Discomfort is where big changes happen and it is very much needed for your personal growth and development.
- Own your shit– Everything is a reflection of you. I know you don’t want to hear this, but in one way or another, your outer world reflects your inner world. Once you wrap your head around that, awesome things happen!
- Be generous with your knowledge– We are all here to teach in some way. Someone out there will benefit from you sharing yourself with the world.
- Be kind– This seems obvious but for some reason, we still have to remind the world of this. Just do it!
- You are enough– We were all born perfect and we are still perfect. Forget all those instances where others tried to convince you differently and know that you are enough. Every single one of us is enough.
- It’s all okay– Whatever is coming up for you, whatever emotions you are feeling or not feeling. Whatever way you are using your voice or not using your voice, is okay. We all process things differently and each of those processes is valid and okay. Only you know your truth.
The Takeaway…
To some, this list seems simple and to others it may seem harsh, either way remembering each of these things will help you when you get off track. We all go off track! I have been on this expansion journey for quite some time now and each day is a little different. There are times when I feel like I’ve reached the next level and I’m ready to take on the world. Other times it’s as if I’ve forgotten everything I’ve learned and my patterns and limiting beliefs come back to say hello, we never left you.
What I do on those days instead of listening to those voices, is choose to reach for a better feeling. And in reaching, I find myself a little lighter.
For inspiration, I look to others who also choose to see the brighter side of life. In that looking, you will find that you are not alone and sometimes that is all you need to realize it’s all okay.
